Maxine McNerney

Maxine B. McNerney, 85, Carthage, MO, passed away Wednesday morning, September 7, 2016 at her home. Maxine Bernice Boyer was born May 25, 1931 in Webb City, MO to the late Jack Boyer and Nadene (Nelson) Boyer. She was a graduate of Carterville High School, Class of 1949. Maxine married Everett (Tex) Miller in 1949; he preceded her in death. Maxine married Martin P. McNerney in 1989 in Carthage, MO; he preceded her in death in 1999. She worked many years for Safeway Cheese Manufacturing. Maxine was a member of the Carthage Shrine Club and she was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Charleston, Overland Park, KS; a nephew, John Charleston (wife Cheryl), Reeds, MO; a niece, Cindi Knipp, Tonganoxie, KS; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Hugh Boyer, and a nephew, Jimmie Charleston.

Visitation will be held 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Graveside memorial service will follow at 11:15 a.m. at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Minister John Wilkins will officiate. Memorial gifts can be made to the Carthage Shrine – Train Crew and sent to Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO 64836.
