Betty L. Schrader, age 89 of Joplin, Mo passed away at 7:30 pm Sunday September 4, 2016 at her home.
She was born on March 15, 1927 in Galena, Ks the daughter of Lester and Galena “Moody” Rooney. Betty married William B. Schrader on March 29, 1945 in Galena, Ks. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1993. Betty was a volunteer with the St. John’s Auxiliary for 20 years and was a member of St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church of Joplin, Mo.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Arleen McKinzie. Survivors include a son Preston Schrader and wife Mikki of Cherry Hill, NJ, two grandchildren: Erik Schrader and wife Sarah and Kaara Schrader, three great grandchildren: Susannah, Shea, and Sky Schrader, a niece Lesta Beattie-Manning and a nephew Norman Beattie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday September 8, 2016 at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Reverend Jay Friedel officiating. Entombment will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum Joplin, Mo. A rosary will be conducted at 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
