Kim Smith, age 41, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday August 31, 2016, at her home, following a sudden illness. She was born on March 28, 1975 in Joplin, the daughter of Terry Miksell and Catherine Seay Miksell.
Kim has lived in Joplin most of her life. She was attending MSSU to become a Pharmacy Technician. She has worked for Freeman Pharmacy for several years and most recently she worked for Family Pharmacy.
She married Keith Smith in 2013 and he survives. Also, surviving are two children, Caleb Houston, Webb City, Mo., Ceara Madison, Racine, Mo.; her parents Terry Miksell, Diamond, Mo., and Catherine and David Alderman, Saginaw, Mo.; a brother, Andrew Showalter, Ft. Carson, Co.; three sisters, Brandi Miksell, Joplin, Tara Miksell, Joplin, and Terri Duncan, Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Owen, Braxton, and Jordan.
A Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Joe Morris will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
