Lucille Kennedy, age 96 Joplin, Missouri formerly of Webb City, Missouri passed away Tuesday August 30, 30 2016 at her home with family by her side.
She was born May 2, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mark and Viola (Tweedy) Good.
Lucille was a school teacher for many years and was involved with setting up libraries in the Joplin School District. She continued to volunteer at the Webb City Library and taught adult literacy after her retirement.
She married Raymond Kennedy on June 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1979. also preceding her in death are her parents, and two brothers.
Lucille is survived by two daughters, Leanna J. Kennedy, Laurel, Maryland, Lucille Bailey and husband John, Joplin, Missouri; one brother Lyle Good, Webb City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michelle Roffener and husband David, Beth Bailey and Travis Bailey; four great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday September 6, 2016 at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions to NALA (National Adult Literacy Agency) are requested and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
