Michael Campbell

Michael S. Campbell, age 69, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin MO. surrounded by family.

Mr. Campbell, son of the late Charles and Patricia (Sellers) Campbell, was born on January 5, 1952 in Joplin. He grew up and attended school in Joplin graduating from Joplin High School with the Class of 1969. Soon after he attended Missouri Southern State University and then Kansas University where he studied electrical engineering. He was employed in the wholesale electrical industry for several years in Lawrence, KS, Kansas City, and Joplin, with his last employment being with SMC Electric.








On December 10, 1982, in Lawrence Kansas, he was united in marriage to Miriam Scott, who survives. Additional survivors include his Stepdaughter, Nancy Muehl, her husband, George, of Virginia and their three children, Daniel, his wife Kriston and 2 children, Brittany and her two children and Zachary, his wife Jess, with a baby on the way; Ruby Howard, Deceased and her surviving children, Sean Johnson, his wife Nicole and 3 children, and Carolina Ball, her husband Loren and 2 children; Alda Welker, and her husband, Nate of Joplin, and their children, Arianna, her husband Josh Seal, and 3 children, Bailey, and Samantha with 3 children, Ronald Johnson, and his Partner, Cody Wilkins, of Bella Vista, Charles “Larry” Campbell, of Joplin and his Child Hailey-Ann and a foster child, Shyla Sewing of Bonney Lake WA, with 3 children and 2 grandchildren; one sister, Kelly Graham, of Joplin; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Lynn Howard.

No formal services are scheduled at this time. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may offer condolences online at www.parkermortuary.com or may visit the mortuary to sign Michael’s register book until the evening of Monday, October 18, 2021.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
