(From Clark Funeral Home)Shirley Alice Rich, age 83, of Neosho, Missouri, entered into rest at 10:23 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Freeman Hospital in Neosho.
One of twelve children, Shirley was born on December 31, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Ida May (Rowland) and Leonard Earl McCale, Sr.
On April 3, 1953, she married Raymond Anthony Rich, Sr., in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2017. Shirley was an Army wife, happily caring for the children and moving as the duty called. She was a talented seamstress, working for Peterson Cap and Gown, sewing graduation gowns, and loved to quilt, paint, and write poetry. Shirley was a member of The Cove Mission of Hope Church for over 30 years.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her five children and their spouses, Ray Rich, Jr. of Bisbee, Arizona, Rhonda Henson of Platte City, Missouri, Joyce Minor of Foristell, Missouri, Yvette Frischmann of Bisbee, Arizona, and Dianna McCarter of Neosho; four brothers, Theodore “Ted”, Donald, Jack, and Richard “Richie” McCale; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, her four sisters, Ida Joan McCale, Betty Purdom, Alberta Barancik, Dollretta “Dolly” Carlson, and three brothers, Edward, Leonard “Leon” Jr., and James “Jimmy” McCale preceded her in death.
Under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at The Cove Mission of Hope Church in Lanagan, Missouri.
