Stephen Dunham

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Stephen James Dunham, 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2021 after a two year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He fought a courageous fight, always positive, never giving up, even just hours before God called his name and said, “REST MY CHILD, IT’S TIME TO COME HOME”. Steve passed peacefully, quietly, knowing he was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Steve grew up on a ranch outside of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from the Deer Creek School system, then enlisting in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Later attending the University of Central Oklahoma.

Steve met Debra Tinney Willoughby by chance after placing an ad in the matchmaking section of the local newspaper. Debra chose one ad and only one to respond to. One month later, he proposed, she accepted. They were married on March 18, 1995 at the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. No two people have ever loved each other more.

Steve was the father to Steve “Hawk” Dunham (Jessica), Ty Willoughby (Marlene), Taylor Willoughby (Shara), Sterrin Parrish (Jason Rowland).

Proud grandfather to Tucker Willoughby, Benjamin Dunham, Tanner Willoughby, Hartley Parrish, Evelyn Dunham, Tinnley Parrish, Katherine Dunham, Tyler Willoughby, Lucas Willoughby, Kaelynn Kotarba.

Son to the late Ray and Mildred Dunham

Brother to Pat Barnes (Larry) and the late Ray Dunham (Sheryl)

Further survived by nieces, nephews, along with other special friends and relatives.

Steve will be remembered by friends and family as a loving father, Poppy/Papa Steve, distinguished business man with stellar work ethics, sense of humor that was unique unto him, his social consciousness, US Army veteran, and an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, GO CHIEFS!

A special thank you to those who supported and loved us through this very difficult chapter in our lives, such as our children, also Pam Ingle and Gayle Murphy, our siblings, as well as our Fisher House @ Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO. family and friends, you know who you are, with whom we would not have been able to make it through these last two years without each and every one of you.

Forever my love…

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
