Anna Taylor

Anna Jean Taylor was born March 15, 1934, in New Era, Michigan, one of seven children to Jake and Myrtle Christina (Beardsley) Achterhoff. She entered into rest on October 10, 2021, in Joplin, following an extended illness at the age of 87. 

Anna moved to Granby in 1994 from Baxter Springs, Kansas and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, puzzles and more recently doing model cars. 

Anna married Luther Clyde Jones in November 1953 and he preceded her in death in August of 1975. She then married Vernon Eugene Taylor in June of 1986 and he preceded her in death in January 1999.



Anna is survived by her children, Anna May Scott of Mt. Grove, Missouri, Ethel Irene ‘Crystal’ Spann of Neosho, Missouri, Johnny LeRoy Jones of Granby, Missouri, Myrtle Eileen ‘Pickels’ Leverich and husband, Charles of Granby, Missouri, Charlotte Clydene Porter and husband, Daniel of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Billie Joe ‘Boe’ Jones and wife, Tammy of Granby, Missouri and Darrel Ray Jones of Licking, Missouri; one sister, Patsy Frase of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 45 great great grandchildren.



In addition to her parents and spouses, she is preceded in death by two sons, Luther Irvin Jones, and Avery Cook Jones; three sisters, Lula Bell Horter, Delores May Walker and Betty Elaine Bert; two brothers, Edward Jacob Achterhoff and Donald LeRoy Achteroff; grandson, Jeremiah Michael ‘Mikie’ Porter; granddaughter, Carissa Rash; great granddaughter, Khiyrie McKala Breuil and great grandson, Ryder Walker.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. Graveside services will be at 3 pm Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Baxter Memorial Cemetery, Baxter Springs, Kansas with Opal McDonald officiating.
