(From Derfelt Funeral Home)John Todd White, 58 of Columbus, Kansas passed from this life on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.
John was born on February 14, 1963 in Columbus, Kansas to the union of John W. and Margaret A. (Smith) White. John graduated from Columbus High School with the class of 1981. John earned his associates degree in nursing. He worked as a registered nurse with the Stephen’s unit at Freeman East in Joplin for 20 years. After nursing he went to work for Warstler Excavating in Riverton, KS and was currently employed there at the time of his passing.
John really enjoyed building monster trucks from start to finish. He participated in many monster truck shows from Texas, and Oklahoma just to name a few. If you knew John, he never lacked the ability to carry on a conversation and most of the time it would start out on a various subject and by the end of the conversation you realized you were talking monster trucks. He also enjoyed spending time outside either gardening or taking vacations that included fishing with his son, while the girls would go shopping. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and getting together with family to have dinner.
John was united in marriage to Pamela Lee (Vanatta) White on December 5, 1988 in Columbus, KS. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2021.
John is survived by his parents, John W. and Margaret A. White of Columbus, KS; son, Alec White and wife Brianna of Columbus, KS; daughter, Danielle “Dani” White of Columbus, KS; brother, Troy White of Columbus, KS; sister, Tami Bole and husband Craig of Columbus, KS; two grandchildren, Bristol and Miley White.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.
