Jim Boswell

James H. Boswell, “Jim”, of Billings, MO passed away on October 9th, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness. 

Jim was born on December 12th, 1933, to James and Eliza (Bennett) Boswell in Hominy, Oklahoma. Jim was the youngest of 5 children in the home, and the only son.











Jim graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colorado. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Jim served during the Korean Conflict in various duty stations in the continental US and the South Pacific region. He was honorably discharged and returned home and worked various occupations. 

After moving to Billings, MO in the 1960’s he began his career in over the road trucking, becoming an owner operator, until his retirement in 1998. Jim and his wife, Gale, also owned and operated Sprout Patch Competition from 1989 ~ 2000. After closing Sprout Patch Competition, Jim resumed his career in trucking, hauling heavy equipment for Looney Underground, which he pursued until his health started to decline.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, his son, Steve Boswell and his daughter, Vickie Orpin.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Gale (Matthew), of the home, daughters, Theresa Starner and husband Del of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca Sharp and husband Tom of Goodman, MO, Cindy Savage and husband Jim, of Pineville, MO and stepchildren, Diane Leopard of Clever, MO and Greg Looney and wife Shasta of Republic, MO, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s honor to Convoy of Hope. A Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 15, 2021, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Billings. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Rose Hill West Cemetery. Family has asked that anyone in attendance, at either visitation or the funeral service, wear a facial covering.
